Camp essentials that we provide and Rules

Hot shower/Change room

Hot Water Shower – Camp Guidelines & Benefits

We’re pleased to provide a hot water shower at camp—a comfort not always available in remote hunting camps. Being able to clean up after a long day in the bush is not only refreshing, but it also helps with:

  • Scent control – crucial for bear hunting success

  • Personal hygiene – staying clean helps prevent rashes, irritation, and infection

  • Overall comfort – a hot shower can help you relax, warm up, and feel recharged for the next day’s hunt

To keep this amenity available and sanitary for everyone:

  • Cleaning the shower after each use is mandatory. Please leave it as you found it—clean and ready for the next person.

  • Wearing shower slippers or sandals is strongly encouraged for hygiene and safety.

  • Do not drink the water—it is not potable and is intended for showering only.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a clean and comfortable camp environment!

Running Toilet

Running Toilet – Camp Guidelines & Benefits

We’re proud to offer a running toilet at bear camp—something not every remote hunting camp provides. This modern convenience offers several important benefits:

  • Improved hygiene and cleanliness

  • Comfort and ease of use, especially during bad weather or nighttime

  • A more enjoyable and sanitary camp experience for all guests

To keep the toilet functional and clean for everyone, please follow these important guidelines:

  • Cleaning after each use is mandatory. Please respect others by leaving the facility clean and ready for the next person.

  • Do not flush any wipes, paper towels, or hygiene products of any kind—even if labeled “flushable.”

  • Only human waste and first-wipe toilet paper should be flushed.

  • All other hygiene products (including additional toilet paper, wipes, sanitary items, etc.) must be disposed of in the garbage, which will be provided in the facility.

Following these rules helps prevent clogs, keeps the system running smoothly, and ensures a clean and sanitary experience for all guests.

Thank you for doing your part to help maintain our camp!

Tents

Tent Accommodation – What You Need to Know

We encourage all guests to bring their own tent for several important reasons:

  • It is more hygienic and ensures you're sleeping in an environment you're familiar and comfortable with

  • It gives you more control over your setup, gear storage, and sleeping arrangements

However, if you do not have your own tent, we offer tent rentals for $25 per night.
This fee helps cover the cleaning and disinfecting process to ensure the tent is properly sanitized and ready for the next guest.

If you require a rental tent, please let us know prior to your arrival so we can have it set up and ready for you.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

Crossbow Rental

Crossbow Rentals – Available at Camp

We offer crossbow rentals for $50 per day, with an additional $60 replacement fee if a bolt and broadhead are used during your hunt—which you’ll get to keep as a memento of your successful harvest.

Why Rent a Crossbow?

There are several reasons why a rental may be the right choice:

  • You're a new hunter and don’t yet have your own gear or want to avoid the upfront investment

  • Your bow/firearm was damaged in transport

  • You’d like to try something different

  • You’re not fully confident in your current setup

Equipment Quality & Use

All of our rental crossbows are current models and in brand-new condition.
Before heading into the field, we will walk you through the proper procedures for operating the crossbow and answer any questions you may have to ensure you’re confident and safe when using the equipment.

⚠️ Important: If the crossbow is damaged due to neglect, carelessness, or failure to follow proper procedures, you will be held financially responsible for any repair or replacement costs.

If you’re interested in renting a crossbow, please contact us in advance so we can reserve one for your hunt.

Shared BBQ Griddle

Shared BBQ Griddle – Camp Use Guidelines

We provide a shared BBQ griddle for cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner, available to all members in camp. To ensure it remains clean and ready for everyone:

  • Propane, cooking utensils, and cleaning supplies for the BBQ will be provided.

  • Please clean the griddle thoroughly after each use so the next guest can enjoy it as well.

  • Be prompt with your cooking times, and consider asking if others would like to use the BBQ with you. This helps speed up cooking and ensures everyone gets to the stand on time.

If you have any special dietary or religious restrictions, please be aware that we cannot guarantee the griddle will be free from cross-contamination.
In such cases, you will be required to bring your own cooking gear to meet your specific needs.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in maintaining a clean and respectful camp environment.

Gas Generator

 Camp Power & Convenience

A gas generator will be available at camp to power the lights and fans for your comfort and convenience.

It will also be used to charge phones, camera equipment, and any other devices you may need during your stay.
Please bring your own required plugs, adapters, and extension cords if you need them.

For safety reasons—due to the risk of fire or overheating in the forest—the generator will only be operated when someone is present at camp and only when required. This ensures a safe environment for everyone and helps protect our surrounding wilderness.

Please feel free to make use of this service while you’re at camp.

Camp Fire

  Firewood & Campfire Safety

Firewood and a fire pit will be provided for your use.

Campfires are an iconic part of camping—especially here at Bear Camp. To fully enjoy this experience, be sure to bring a comfortable camp chair to relax by the fire.

Please ensure that fires are never left unattended at any time. For your safety and the safety of the surrounding environment, it’s crucial to always have someone monitoring the fire.

A fire extinguisher will be on site for emergencies.

Do not throw grease, gasoline, oil, or any other flammable liquids into the fire. This helps prevent dangerous flare-ups and protects both campers and the natural habitat.

Safety for ourselves and the environment is of the utmost importance—thank you for your cooperation.

Community Tent/Cooking Tent

 Community Tent & Shared Facilities

A community tent measuring 10 feet wide by 20 feet long with tables and chairs is available for all guests to use. These spaces are to be shared respectfully and cleaned by everyone after use to maintain a welcoming environment for all.

Garbage bins will be provided for disposing of plastics, glass, Styrofoam, and any other materials that cannot be burned in the fire pit.

Additionally, there is a designated cooking tent for the BBQ, allowing you to prepare meals comfortably regardless of the weather.

Thank you for helping keep our camp clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone.

Archery Practice Range

Designated Bow Practice Area & Firearm Safety

We provide a designated area where you can hone your bow skills on a practice bag. Please use only field tips when shooting at the bag to prevent damage to the bag.

Safety is everyone’s responsibility and must be taken seriously at all times.

No loaded firearms are allowed in camp at any time—zero tolerance.
All firearms must remain unloaded and safely stored while in camp. Firearms and bows may only be loaded, that includes attaching your magazine, when you are sitting in your tree stand or blind. You must unload your firearm and bow before leaving your stand or blind.  Please ensure you have a suitable case to securely store your firearm or bow after dark.
Transporting loaded firearms to and from the hunting site is strictly prohibited.

Any misconduct, dangerous use, or improper handling of firearms or the practice range will be addressed promptly and may result in forfeiture of your hunt and immediate removal from camp—no refunds will be issued.

Thank you for respecting these rules and helping maintain a safe environment for all hunters.

Parking Your Vehicle

There is ample parking at camp for trucks and trailers if needed. Both trucks and cars can access the campsite via a logging road. Please be mindful of your surroundings, as rocks and boulders create uneven ground in some areas. Make sure to park in a spot that is suitable for your vehicle to avoid any damage.

Transport To And From Site

We provide transportation to and from the hunting site in a 6-seater side-by-side vehicle and will accompany you to and from your tree stand or blind, if required.

If you have any physical limitations or special needs, please let us know prior to your arrival at camp so we can do our best to accommodate you.

For your safety, please remain in your stand or blind until you are picked up unless otherwise discussed.
